Tipping Floor Inspector
The
Tipping Floor Inspector is an individual who will direct incoming
truck traffic, inspect each load brought to the facility for suspect
hazardous material and that the material in the load is acceptable
to take. The individual will accurately reflect by weight the type
of material tipped. Surcharge items will be tracked by the floor
inspector and added to the customer’s bill through the use of the
handheld computer. The individual directly reports to the Operations/Plant
Manager
Specific
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain
proper level and working conditions of all personal protective
equipment issued
- Maintain
a clean and organized work environment both on the tipping floor
and outside the facility
- Look
for and report any potential malfunctions or disruptions of plant
activities
- Monitor
and direct incoming/outgoing truck traffic
- Monitor
and view all incoming loads before tipping
- Inventory
and itemize incoming loads by material type during tipping floor
review
- Use
handheld device to properly categorize material offloaded and
add evident surcharge items
- Supervise
and direct any pre-sorting efforts that occur on the tipping floor
- Use
two-way radios in a professional and business manner at all times
- Report
any and all damages to person or equipment at time of incident
or first observance
- Conduct
proper opening/closing facility procedures as needed
