After an extensive permitting process, we are pleased to announce that on June 16, 2011, the Devens Enterprise Commission granted DRC a permanent modification to its existing operating license after successfully passing its 6 month trial period for Saturday operating hours. We are now officially open Monday – Friday from 7:00am – 5:00 pm and Saturdays from 7:00 am – 1:00 pm!

Devens Recycling Center accepts MSW (Municipal Solid Waste) and C&D (Construction and Demolition Debris) on Saturdays. All customers wishing to bring material to the facility are required to use the designated truck route which is posted on the Directions page of our website. You our customers now have an disposal site for your Saturday volume.

We encourage you to take advantage of our new extended hours and we kindly remind all our customers to utilize the designated truck route whenever arriving or departing our facility.

Devens Recycling Center Gets MSW Permit
On July 8, 2009, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection granted us a permit modification to our existing operating license. DRC now accepts MSW (Municipal Solid Waste). The modification allows our facility to receive 500 tons of MSW and 1000 tons of C&D (Construction and Demolition) material daily. This is great news for you, our customers!

For those of you who presently haul both waste streams, you no longer need to be concerned with routing different materials to different locations. We can handle it all!

This simple convenience can save you big dollars on payroll, wear and tear on your hauling fleet, not to mention diesel.

Did you know that MassDEP requires that proper notification forms:

Notification of New Building or Demolition
Form# BWP ANF001
Notification of Asbestos Survey) be filed with them by all Building and Demolition Contractors10 days prior to the commencement of a new building and/or demolition project

The only exception to this regulation is for residential projects with less than 20 units.

The purpose of these notifications is to protect our health and environment by preventing the release of dust and other potentially hazardous air pollutants to the air.

We are now requesting a copy of these Notification Forms from you and/or your customer prior to the delivery of your 1st load from a commercial construction or demolition job.

Having copies of these Forms on file at our office, continuing to ask all your drivers for a physical address, and the periodic testing of suspect material from non-documented loads will ensure that Devens Recycling Center and you, our valued customers are in full compliance with all Federal and State regulations regarding the proper handling and disposal of C&D Debris.
